July 4th symbolizes what Williams passionately believes: that government is of the people, by the people and for the people. The 5th District encompasses a diverse group of citizens whose input and ideas are imperative in order to make St. Louis County an even better place to live, work and raise a family; The district has many "Main Street U.S.A." business districts which contribute to the viability of the communities in which they are located...

Terri Williams Wants Seat On County Council July 10, 2009
Former Webster Groves mayor Terri Williams has announced her candidacy for the 5th District seat on the St. Louis County Council.
The 5th District is currently represented by Democrat Barbara Fraser, who was elected to a four-year term in 2006. Fraser announced earlier this year that she will run for the District 24 State Senate seat. That seat is held by Democrat Joan Bray, who will leave office in the fall of 2010 because of term limits.
Williams kicked off her "Terri in 2010" campaign at the Webster Groves July 4 parade with a float entry and more than 50 marching supporters. A Democrat, Williams served as Webster Groves mayor from 1994-98...
I am thrilled to be running for the St. Louis County Council. Representing the 5th district would truly be an honor and I am hopeful that I can count on your support!
I want to hear from YOU about the issues that matter to YOUR community. This race isn't about me, it is about making the region an even better place to live, work, and raise your family
In talking and working with residents and businesses of the 5th District, I learned that the following four issues are important to many of you - and I will continue to work to make these things happen:
Securing emerging technologies - including green jobs - for the region
Expansion of MetroLink and other public transportation options
Taking collaboration between County municipalities to a new level
Increasing cooperation between St. Louis County and City
Look forward to updates and events in the coming weeks, and please contact me with questions, concerns, or suggestions.
